The term diurnal planets is used to refer to Saturn and Jupiter, which belong to the same sect as the sun, inasmuch as they do not often make settings or appearances in the night sky. They are most productive during the day and are happiest in diumal places. Whenever the nocturnal planets are mentioned, this refers to Mars and Venus, which have been designated to the sect of the moon. These planets make many appearances, setting often in the evening and thus being seen frequently in the night sky. Mercury, however, shares equally in the two sects. IfMercury is making a morning rising, it falls under the sect of the sun, but if it makes an evening setting, it is in the sect of the Moon.
