以下所說明的配置也屬於「包圍」（surrounded）的概念，但或許更適合稱為「夾制」（enclosement）。
當兩顆行星包圍位於中間的另一顆行星，且沒有任何其他行星的光束投射到這些行星之間的位置時，便稱為「夾制」。
此外，當其他行星將光束投射到某顆行星前方或後方七度的範圍內時，也稱為「夾制」，因為這顆行星剛剛脫離了前一個七度的範圍，並正進入下一個七度的範圍。

The configuration illustrated hereafter also falls under the concept of being surrounded, but may more fittingly be called enclosement. It is termed enclosement whenever two planets surround a planet that sits in the middle, and no other beam of any planet falls into the places between these planets. It is also called enclosement when other planets cast a ray into the seven degrees preceding or following a planet, for the planet has just been released from these seven degrees, and is moving into the next seven degrees. This can also apply when the same planet surrounds a planet by different angles, as has been mentioned above. A nativity that has a planet enclosed by malefics is very difficult, while a nativity with an enclosement by benefics can be quite beneficial.
